MOXAN

*Exacerbations of chronic bronchitis:* ORAL: Adult: 400 mg once daily for 5-10 days. *Acute Sinusitis:* ORAL: Adult: 400 mg once daily for 7 days. *Community-acquired pneumonia:* ORAL: Adult: 400 mg once daily for 7-14 days. BY IV INF: Adult: 400 mg once daily for 7-14 days, to be given over 60 minutes. *Mild to moderate pelvic inflammatory disease:* ORAL: Adult: 400 mg once daily for 14 days. *Complicated skin and soft-tissue infections when other anti-bacterials are inappropriate or failed:* ORAL: Adult: 400 mg once daily for 7-21 days. BY IV INF: Adult: 400 mg once daily for 7-21 days, to be given over 60 minutes.

Acute myocardial infarction, bradycardia, congenital long QTsyndrome, electrolyte disturbances, heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction, history of symptomatic arrhythmias, history of tendon disorders related to quinolone treatment, liver impairment

Risk of seizures; discontinue if occur. Seek spe-cialist ophthalmological advice if any effects on eyes. Risk of tendon inflammation/rupture; t limb pain or inflammation should be monitored. Pro-arrhythmic conditions including acute MI and QT prolongation discontinue immediately with signs of arrhythmia and perform ECG. Risk of pseudomembranous colitis; consider if patient has persistent diarrhoea, G6PD deficiency. Avoid excess UV exposure. Hypersensitivity reactions may progress to life-threatening shock; discontinue and initiate suitable treatment. Risk of neuropathy; advise patients to report relevant symptoms. Risk of fulminant hepatitis; monitor liver function and advise patients to report signs of hepatic disease, risk of heart failure in women and older patients, risk of severe skin reactions; advise patients to report relevant symptoms. History of psychiatric disease and psychosis; monitor for suicidal thoughts and behavior, myasthenia gravis, elderly with renal impairment.

Drugs that prolong the QT interval including an-tiarrhythmics, neuroleptics, TCADs, antimicrobials, antihistamines, cisapride, corticosteroids, hypokalaemic agents, anticoagulants. Oral: Also, antacids, didanosine, sucralfate, charcoal, iron or zinc supplements.

Angina, arrhythmias, constipation, flatulence, gastritis, hyperlipidaemia, palpitation, sweating, vasodilatation, dyspnea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, GI disturbance, QT prolongation in patients with hypokalaemia, abnormal LFTs, pain and phlebitis at injection site. Rare: Amnesia, dysphagia, hyperglycaemia, hypertension, hyperuricaemia, in coordination, myopathy, oedema, peripheral neuropathy, stomatitis, syncope, vasculitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermalnecrolysis
