📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Complicated Intra-abdominal Infection:*
BY IV INF: Adult: 500 mg IV INF over 1 hour every 8 hr for 5-14 days.
*Complicated UTI:*
BY IV INF: Adult: 500 mg IV INF over 1 hour every 8 hr for 10 days, can be extended up to 14 days if concurrent infection.
*Treatment of bronchopulmonary infection with cystic fibrosis:*
BY IV INF: Adult: 500 mg IV INF over 1 hour every 8 hr for max 14 days.
💊 Mode of Administration
Reconstitute in 500 mg vial with 10 ml SWI or NS; shake gently to form suspension. Add to infusion bag containing 100 mL NS or D5W, shake gently until clear
⛔ Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to doripenem, beta-lactams or similar drugs
⚠️ Precautions & Warnings
History of sensitivity to multiple allergens,
may reduce serum valproic acid concerntration to subtherapeutic level; monitor levels frequently,
risk of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea on long-term use, seizures reported with use,
not approved for ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia (or any type of pneumonia); increased mortality
🔄 Drug Interactions
Vaccine (BCG, Cholera,Typhoid),
Probenecid, lactobacillus and estriol, sodium picosulphate and valproate products
⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, headache,
nausea, pruritus, rash, anemia, phlebitis, transaminases elevated
oral candidiasis. Rare: Anaphylaxis, leukopenia, neutropenia, seizure, thrombocytopenia,
toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, interstitial pneumonia,
renal impairment/failure

🧪 Compatibility & Storage Stability
Compatibility: Stable in SWFI, NS and D5W
Stability & Storage: Store dry powder at 20 C-25 C
(68 F-77 F). Freshly prepared solutions should be
used whenever possible. Reconstituted solutions
are stable at 15 C-25 C (59 F-77 F), or under
refrigeration at 4 C (39 F). Solutions should not be frozen.
