📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Treatment of benign gastric and duodenal ulceration:*
Adult: 40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks, dose to be taken at night.
*Prophylaxis of duodenal ulcer relapse:*
Adult: 20 mg once daily, dose to be taken at night.
*Zollinger-ellison syndrome:*
Initially 20 mg every 6 hr, adjust as necessary; max 800 mg daily.
*Reflux oesophagitis:*
Adult: 20-40 mg twice daily for 6-12 weeks; maintenance 20 mg twice daily
⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Blood dyscrasias, hypotension, tachycardia, emesis, headache, dizziness, constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, dry mouth, bradycardia, anorexia, cholestatic jaundice, anaphylaxis, angioedema, arthralgia, muscle cramp,renal failure, abnormal liver enzymes, CNS disturbances. Rarely reversible gynaecomastia, toxic epidermalnecrolysis, chest tightness, interstitial pneumonia, paraesthesia, seizures
