๐ Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Prophylaxis and treatment of deficiencies of vit C. Scurvy:*
ORAL OR BY IM OR SLOW IV INJ: Adults: 500 mg-1 gm daily in 1-2 divided doses for at least 2 week.
Children1 month-4 yrs: 125-250 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses; 4-12 yrs: 250-500 mg daily in 1-2 divided doses; 12-18 yrs: 500 mg-1 gm daily in 1-2 di-vided doses.
*Adjunct in treatment of wounds and infections:*
Adult: 4-12 gm daily in 3-4 divided does. Children above 1 yr: 500 mg every 6-8 hr
*Dietary supplement:*
Adult: 50-200 mg daily. Children: 35-100 mg daily.
*Adjunct to desferrioxamine therapy to enhance excretion of iron:*
Adult & Children1 mth-18 yrs: 100-200 mg daily 1 hr before food, after one month of therapy

Diabetics, patients prone to renal calculi.
๐ Drug Interactions
Iron preps, oral contraceptives, fluphenazine, warfarin.
โ ๏ธ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Kidney oxalate stones, hyperoxaluria, diarrhoea, GI disturbance, dizziness, faintness, fatigue, flank pain, headache.
