📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Constipation, bowel clearance for surgical and other procedure:*
Adults: 1 enema inserted to full length of nozzle. Children below 3 yr: same dose (insert to half nozzle length); above 3 yr: same as adult.
⛔ Contraindications
Severe colitis, ascites, congestive cardiac failure, gastricretention, GI obstruction, GI perforation, toxic megacolon,
increased colonic absorption, inflammatory bowel disease
⚠️ Precautions & Warnings
Cardiac disease, colitis, elderly and debilitated patients, fluid and electrolyte disturbances, hypovolaemia, impaired gag reflex or possibility of regurgitation or aspiration, uncontrolled hypertension
🔄 Drug Interactions
Calcium antagonists, diuretics, lithium, oral contraceptives, anticonvulsants, anti-diabetics, antibiotics.
⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Abdominal distention and pain, nausea, vomiting, dehydration, dizziness, headache, arrhythmias, asthenia, chest pain, electrolyte disturbances, renal failure, local irritation.
