📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Erosive esophagitis:*
Adult: Tab 60 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks; maintenance and relief of heartburn; 30 mg once daily for up to 6 months.
*Symptomatic non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD):*
Adult: Tab 30 mg once daily for 4 a week
⛔ Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, malignancy, severe hepatic impairment.
⚠️ Precautions & Warnings
Hepatic impairment, allergies, pregnancy, elderly, severe renal impairment.
🔄 Drug Interactions
Dexlansoprazole is metabolized in part, by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4. Reports of increased INR and prothrombin time in patients receiving PPIs and warfarin concomitantly
⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, upper respiratory tract infection, vomiting, flatulence, hot flashes, contusion, oropharyngael pain, weight loss. Rare: Liver disorders, anaphylaxis and hypersensitivity reaction such as epidermal necrolysis, and pruritus.
