๐ Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Symptomatic relief of allergy such as hay fever, urticaria, food allergy, drug reactions, Relief of itch associated with chicken pox:*
Adult & Children above 12 yrs: 4 mg every 4-6 hours; max. 24 mg per day.
Elderly: 4 mg every 4-6 hours; max. 12 mg per day.
Children 1-23 months: 1 mg twice daily; 2-5 years: 1 mg every 4-6 hours; max. 6 mg per day; 6-11 years: 2 mg every 4-6 hours; max.12 mg per day.
BY IM INJ, OR BY IV INJ: Adult & Children above 12 yrs: 10 mg, repeated if necessary; max. 4 dosesper day.
Children 1-5 months: 250 mcg/kg (max. per dose 2.5 mg), repeated if necessary; max. 4 doses per day; 6 months-5 yrs: 2.5 mg, repeated if necessary;max. 4 doses per day; 6-11 yrs: 5 mg, repeated if necessary; max.4 doses per day.
*Emergency treatment of anaphylactic reactions:*

๐ Mode of Administration
Chlorpheniramine 10 mg/ml may be administered by SC, IM or IV injection slowly over a period of one min.
โ Contraindications
Avoid in acute porphyrias, severe liver disease; risk of coma

Renal insufficiency, epilepsy, prostatic hypertrophy, pyloroduodenal obstruction, susceptibility to angleclosure glaucoma, urinary retention
๐ Drug Interactions
Alcohol, CNS depressants, MAOls.
โ ๏ธ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Headache, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, dry mouth, GI disturbances, psychomotor impairment, urinary retention. Rare: Anaphylaxis, angioedema, angle-closure glaucoma
