📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Treatment of acute migraine, acute cluster headache:*
Adult: 1 tab onset of acute attack, followed by 1 tab after at least 2 hours if required, to be taken only if migraine recurs (patient not responding to initial dose should not take second dose for same attack); max. 2 tab per day.
⛔ Contraindications
Coronary vasospasm, ischaemic heart disease, uncontrolled, moderate and severe hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, previous cerebrovascular accident, previous myocardial infarction, previous transient ischaemic attack, Prinzmetals angina, active GI bleeding or ulceration or haemorrhage (two or more distinct episodes), severe heart failure, NSIAD induced allergy, hepatic and renal failure
⚠️ Precautions & Warnings
Predisposition to coronary artery disease, asthma, elderly, history of seizures, mild controlled hypertension, pre-existing cardiac disease, risk factors for seizures, renal or hepatic impairment (reduce dose), allergic disorders
🔄 Drug Interactions
MAOIs, ergotamine, SSR1s, St. Johns Wort, anticoagulants, antiplatelets, hydantoins, sulfo-nylureas, quinolones, sulphonamides, diuretics, lithium, beta-blockers, probenecid, methotrexate, cyclosporin, corticosteroids, SSRIs, cardiac glycosides, mifepristone, tacrolimus, zidovudine, other NSAIDs.
⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Anxiety, arthralgia, bradycardia, diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness, raised blood pressure, dyspnea, fatigue, flushing, myalgia, nausea, sensory disturbances, transient increase in blood pressure, vomiting, weakness, hypersensitivity reactions, hypotension, ischaemic colitis, neck stiffness. Rare: Arrhythmias, angina, dystonia, myocardial infarction, nystagmus, palpitation, Raynauds syndrome, seizures, sweating, tachycardia, transient ischaemic ECG changes, tremor, visual disturbances
🤰 Pregnancy & Lactation Safety
Pregnancy Risk:
Avoid unless the potential benefit outweighs the risk.
Lactation / Breastfeeding:
Withhold breast-feeding for 12 hours after treatment.
