📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Mild to moderate pain, Pyrexia:*
ORAL: Adult: 0.5-1 g every 4-6 hours; max. 4 g per day.
BY IV INF: Adult (body-weight up to 50 kg): 15 mg/kg every 4-6 hours, dose to be administered over 15 minutes; max. 60 mg/kg per day; (body-weight 50 kg and above): 1 gm every 4-6 hours, dose to be administered over 15 minutes; max. 4 g per day.
BY RECTUM: Adult: 0.5-1 g every 4-6 hours; max. 4 gm per day.

ORAL: Children 3-5 months: 60 mg every 4-6 hours; 6 months-1 yr: 120 mg every 4-6 hours; 2-3 yrs: 180 mg every 4-6 hours; 4-5 yrs: 240 mg every 4-6 hours; 6-7 yrs: 240-250 mg every 4-6 hours; 8-9 yrs: 360-375 mg every 4-6 hours; max. 4 doses per day;10-11 yrs: 480-500 mg every 4-6 hours; 12-15 yrs: 480-750 mg every 4-6 hours; 16-17 yrs: 0.5-1 g every 4-6 hours. max. 4 doses per day.
BY RECTUM: Children 3-11 months: 60-125 mg every 4-6 hours as required; max. 4 doses per day; 1-4 yrs: 125-250 mg every 4-6 hours as required; max. 4 doses per day; 5-11 yrs: 250-500 mg every 4-6 hours as required; max. 4 doses per day; 12-17 yrs: 500 mg every 4-6 hours
BY IV INF: Neonate: 10 mg/kg every 4-6 hr, max 30 mg/ kg/day; child body-weight below 10 kg: 10 mg/kg every 4-6 hr, max 30 mg/kg/day; child body-weight 10-50 kg: 15 mg/kg every 4-6 hr, max 60 mg/kg/day; child body-weight over 50 kg: 1 gm every 4-6 hr, max 4 gm daily.
*Post-immunization pyrexia in infants:*
ORAL: Child 2-3 months: 60 mg for 1 dose, then 60 mg after 4-6 hours if required; 4 months: 60 mg for 1 dose, then 60 mg after 4-6 hours; max. 4 doses per day.
*Postoperative pain:*
Adult: 1 gm every 4-6 hr, max 4 doses/ day
Children 1-3 months: 30 mg/kg as a single dose then 15-20 mg/kg every 4-6 hr, max 75 mg/kg/day in divided doses; 3 months-6 yr: 30-40 mg/kg as a single dose then 15-20 mg/kg every 4-6 hr, max 75 mg/kg daily in divided doses; 6-12 yr: 30-40 mg/kg, (max 1 gm) as a single dose then 15-20 mg/kg every 4-6 hr, max 75 mg/kg (max 4 g) daily in divided doses; 12-18 yr: 1 gm every 4-6 hr, max 4 doses/ day.
💊 Mode of Administration
IV infusion over 15 min. Store intact vial at room temperature 20C. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Use within 6 hours of opening vial or transferring to another container.
⚠️ Precautions & Warnings
Impaired hepatic function, body-weight under 50 kg, chronic alcohol consumption, chronic dehydration, chronic malnutrition, hepatocellular insufficiency, long-term use (especially in those who are malnourished). Before administering, check when paracetamollast administered and cumulative paracetamol dose over previous 24 hours,
🔄 Drug Interactions
Drugs which delay gastric emptying (e.g. antichol inergics, narcotics).
⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Rare: Skin reactions, blood disorders, hepatoxicity (high dose), Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxicepidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, malaise, leucopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia.
With intravenous use: Rare: Flushing, tachycardia, hypotension
