📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage

*Pain and inflammation in rheumatic disease and other musculoskeletal disorders, fever, Mild to moderate pain including dysmenorrhea, Postoperative analgesia, Migraine, Dental pain:* Adult: Initially 300-400 mg 3-4 times a day; increased if necessary up to 600 mg 4 times a day, dose to be increased only in severe cases; maintenance 200-400 mg 3 times a day. *Mild to moderate pain, fever, Pain and inflammation of soft-tissue injuries, Pyrexia with discomfort:* Adult & Child above 12years: Initially 300-400 mg 3-4 times a day; increased if necessary up to 600 mg 4 times a day, dose to be increased only in severe cases; maintenance 200-400 mg 3 times a day Children 3-5 months: 50 mg 3 times a day, max.30 mg/kg per day; 6-11 months: 50 mg 3-4 times a day, max.30 mg/kg per day; 1-3 years: 100 mg 3 times a day, max.30 mg/kg per day; 4-6 years: 150 mg 3 times a day, max.30 mg/kg per day; 7-9 years: 200 mg 3 times a day, max.30 mg/kg per day; max. 2.4 g per day; 10-11 years: 300 mg 3 times a day, max.30 mg/kg per day; max. 2.4 g per day. *Pain and inflammation in rheumatic disease including systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis:* Children 3 months-17 years: 30-40 mg/kg daily in 3-4 divided doses; increase up to 60 mg/kg daily in 4-6 divided doses; max. 2.4 g per day. *Post-immunization pyrexia in infants:* Children 2-3 months: 50 mg for 1 dose, followed by 50 mg after 6 hours if required.

⛔ Contraindications

Active or recurrent GI bleeding or ulceration, cerebrovascular disease, history of GI bleeding or GI perforation related to previous NSAID therapy, history of recurrent GI haemorrhage, ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, moderate to severe renal impairment, aspirin/anti-inflammatory induced allergy.

⚠️ Precautions & Warnings

Renal, hepatic or cardiac impairment. GI disease, allergic disorders, avoid in acute porphyrias, coagulation defects, connective-tissue disorders, Crohns disease (may be exacerbated), elderly, oedema, risk factors for cardiovascular events, ulcerative colitis (may be exacerbated), uncontrolled hypertension

🔄 Drug Interactions

Anticoagulants, thiazide diuretics, quinolones.

⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects

Angioedema, blood disorders, bronchospasm, colitis, Crohns disease, depression, diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness, fluid retention, GI bleeding and ulceration, GI disturbances, haematuria, headache, hearing disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, insomnia, nausea, nervousness, photosensitivity, raised blood pressure, rashes, renal failure (especially in patients with preexisting renal impairment),tinnitus, vertigo. Rare: Hepatic damage, interstitial fibrosis associated with NSAIDs, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, visual disturbances, exacerbation of symptoms in asthma, thrombo-cytopenia, aseptic meningitis
