📋 Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Adjuvant treatment of oestrogen-receptor-positive early breast cancer in postmenopausal women following 2-3 years of tamoxifen therapy, advanced breast cancerin postmenopausal women in whom anti-oestrogentherapy has failed:*
Adult: 25 mg daily after a meal. In early breast cancer, continue treatment until completion of 5 yr combined sequential adjuvant therapy with tamoxifen, or earlier if tumour relapses. In advanced breast cancer continue treatment until subsided.
Children: Not recommended.
⚠️ Precautions & Warnings
Assess LH, FSH and oestradiol level before the treatment, hepatic or renal impairment. Monitor bone mineral density during adjuvant therapy, treat for osteoporosis as appropriate.
⚠️ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Abdominal pain, alopecia, anorexia, constipation, depression, dizziness, dyspepsia, fatigue, headache, hot flushes, insomnia, nausea, rash, sweating, vomiting, asthenia, drowsiness, peripheral oedema. Rare: Leucopenia, thrombocytopenia
