๐ Indications & Clinical Dosage
*Induction of remission of acute myeloblastic leukaemia:*
BY IV INF, OR BY IV INJ, OR BY SC INJ: Adult: 0.5-5 mg/kg body weight , daily for 5-10 days. See literature.
*Lymphomatous meningitis:*
BY INTRATHECAL INJ: Adult: (consult product literature & local protocol).
๐ Mode of Administration
Can be administered IM, IV Infusion, IT or SC at a concentration NTE 100 mg/ ml IV may be administered either as a bolus, IVPB (high doses of >500 mg/m2), or continuous IV infusion (doses of 100-200 mg/m2). Reconstitute with SWFI, D5W or NS. Standard IV infusion dilution: Dose 250/1000 ml D5W or NS. Standard intrathecal dilution: Dose 3-5 ml lactated Ringers + methotrexate (12 mg) + hydrocortisone (15-50 mg). Note: Bacteriostatic diluent should not be used for the preparation of either high doses or intrathecal doses of cytara-bine; may be used for IM, SC, and low-dose (100-200 mg/ m2) IV Solution.
๐ Drug Interactions
Alkylating agent, radiation, purine analogues, methotrexate, gentamicin, flucytosine, digoxin.
โ ๏ธ Adverse Reactions / Side Effects
Alopecia, bone-marrow suppression, extravasation, hyperuricaemia, nausea, oral mucositis, thromboembolism, tumourlysis syndrome, vomiting

Pregnancy Risk:
Positive evidence of risk: Avoid
Lactation / Breastfeeding:
Contraindicated. Discontinue breast-feeding
